Ingenieurbüro Nordhorn GmbH & Co. KG starts 2023 with a major contract

The new year is off to a busy start for RWTÜV subsidiary IB Nordhorn: with a prestigious project that is part of the overarching development and operating concept for the post-operational phase of Tegel Airport.

Under the motto „Tegel Airport moves out, Berlin moves in!“, a research and industrial park for urban technologies called „The Urban Tech Republic,“ a new residential neighborhood called „Schumacher Quartier,“ and a landscape park are to be created on the 500-hectare site by 2027.

IB N has won the tender to plan the technical building equipment (TGA) for two central building sections, the old airport approach („Loop“) and Terminal Building B, which will house the „Forum“ of the Urban Tech Republic, covering a total of 27,000m² of gross floor area (conference, office, and service areas).

Terminal Building B, alongside the repurposing of Terminal A/A2 by the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, is central to the entire area development.
