RWTÜV subsidiary G+N takes over project management for "Pier One"

G+N Consult, a subsidiary of RWTÜV, is taking over construction project management for „Pier One“ I'm in the Düsseldorf harbor.

„With this project, we are supporting the realization of a dual bridge-building effort in the state capital,“ informs Roland Nix, Managing Director of G+N Consult. „Pier One not only builds a bridge in the harbor, but also one from ancient building tradition to modernity.“ This refers to the 180 piles by which the building is anchored in the waters of Düsseldorf Harbor, reminiscent of ancient times.

Unlike historical construction projects, however, the piles today are no longer made of wood, but of concrete. With a length of around 30 meters, they can bear loads of up to 600 tons. The building, which is being developed by Harbour Property Development GmbH and designed by Ingenhoven Architects, will feature offices as well as restaurants and cafes, and showrooms.

„With this project, our subsidiary G+N Consult is taking on a major construction challenge,“ says Fabian Fechner, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of RWTÜV, pleased that G+N has been awarded the contract for this flagship project.
