On September 3, the 7th Corporate Security Conference hosted by critisLAB took place in Berlin. Dr. Jörg Treffke, State Secretary at the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior, opened the conference with a keynote address and announced Brandenburg’s ambition to become a pioneer in legislation governing video detection and counter-drone measures for critical infrastructure (KRITIS).
The necessity and relevance of the conference and its content cannot be overstated. Several security incidents in the region and across the entire federal territory are currently occupying the attention of authorities and the media. „In a world with a multitude of hybrid threats in the physical and digital spheres, we must network, exchange knowledge, and pool our forces. Every stakeholder should be able to benefit from best-practice measures,“ Dr. Bernd Benser, Managing Director and founder of critisLAB, emphasizes the importance of the event.
Over 70 participants from companies in the critical infrastructure sector KRITIS learned about the presentations of the German Armed Forces and the Interior Ministry of the state of Brandenburg as well as the companies in KRITIS and the critisLAB experts and used the conference to exchange ideas with the participants about corporate security, safety measures and risk prevention. „The attacks on the critical infrastructure of the energy industry in recent weeks once again highlight the importance of corporate security for our society. With this forum, Dr. Bernd Benser has created a platform that is of enormous importance for the security of KRITIS facilities in our country,“ says RWTÜV Managing Director Dr. Fabian Fechner, who also participated in the conference.
