From a small step to a big milestone

Dear readers,

In this issue, we want to honor a company from the Enoplan Group with a detailed interview, a company that has grown from three to thirty employees in fifteen years with an uncompromising commitment to quality. Enometrik GmbH can look back with pride on an impressive development over the past 15 years.

We are also reporting on productive appointments: The managing directors of the RWTÜV Group met in Saarbrücken for an exchange and strategic planning; young up-and-coming talent and managers furthered their education in Bonn at the third round of our HR development program, the Young Professional Summit (YPS).

Furthermore, we are delighted by a renewed award from Van Ameyde and the willingness to experiment of young budding researchers. Last but not least, we want to challenge you with our Christmas quiz!

Wishing you a good start to the Advent season
Your Thomas Biedermann and Dr. Fabian Fechner

Milestone

Enoplan subsidiary Enometrik GmbH has reached an important milestone: the company is growing to 30 employees. This is reason for a conversation with managing directors Johannes Fast and Ralf Schade about growth, quality, and the future as a top service provider.

Congratulations on reaching the 30-employee mark! Mr. Fast, you started in 2010 with three employees. How does it feel to look back on this growth now?

Johannes Fast: Thank you! It's an incredibly proud moment.

Mr. Stucky's and my first day of work was January 1, 2010. Our colleague Ms. Clemens joined on February 1. Even though the company was formally registered in 2009, we employees started in 2010.

When we started with three people, concentrating on metering point operation, I could hardly have dreamed that today we would have a team of 30 dedicated employees. This path was not always easy, but every single step was worth it. We have continuously developed – from a pure metering point operator for electricity to a full-service provider for energy metering.

So the range of services has significantly expanded. What was the key to this success?

Johannes Fast: The decisive quality difference compared to the competition was and is that we always work with our own installers. That has been our credo from the very beginning. While other companies rely on subcontractors, we have deliberately invested in our own team. This guarantees consistently high quality, short communication channels, and direct accountability. Today, we are the top quality service provider for complex measurement tasks – and we are particularly proud of that.

Mr. Schade, as the driving force behind the development and managing director of Enoplan GmbH, you were the link between these two companies. How did you experience this development?

Ralf Schade: It was fascinating to see how a vision turned into a true success story. As managing director of both Enometrik and Enoplan, I was able to strategically leverage the synergies between the two companies. The collaboration allowed us to work more efficiently and take bold steps. Johannes‘ passion and foresight were always the driving force – but without the entire team, we wouldn't be where we are today.

You recently celebrated your 15th anniversary and achieved impressive milestones – such as the 10,000th meter in January 2024, one of which was even on the Zugspitze. What do these successes mean to you?

Johannes Fast: These milestones show that we are not only growing but also implementing relevant projects. The meter on the Zugspitze is a prime example of how diverse our work is. But even more important are the many analyses that have enabled our customers to optimize their energy consumption and save costs. That is the real added value we deliver.

Ralf Schade: And the expansion to include metering operations for gas in 2021 was a strategically important step. With this, we significantly expanded our portfolio and positioned ourselves even more broadly. Such decisions require courage and confidence—and I am pleased that they were so successful.

What specifically makes Enometrik a top-quality service provider?

Johannes Fast: It's the combination of several factors: our own highly qualified technicians, direct customer support, technical expertise, and the ability to reliably solve even complex measurement tasks. We are not a mass provider, but specialize in demanding projects where precision and quality are crucial.

How important is the team for this success?

Ralf Schade: The team is everything. Every successful customer interaction, every milestone, every positive feedback – these are results of our employees' work. They are the face of Enometrik, and their diversity, commitment, and expertise make the difference.

Johannes Fast: Absolutely. We have passionate people on the team. These 30 employees aren't just staff – they're experts who take pride in their work and make Enometrik better every day.

What challenges were there on the path from startup to established company?

Johannes Fast: The biggest challenge was certainly to shape growth in such a way that our quality standards did not suffer. To grow from three to 30 employees, we had to create structures, adapt processes, and at the same time ensure that every new colleague understood and lived our values.

Ralf Schade: And of course, finding the right talent. We're not just looking for skilled professionals, but for people who fit our team and are ready to build something with us. This takes time and patience, but it's worth it.

You mentioned the framework conditions. What role does RWTÜV GmbH play as a shareholder of both companies?

Johannes Fast: A crucial one! RWTÜV GmbH is a shareholder of both Enometrik GmbH and Enoplan GmbH, and this has given us the economic stability from the very beginning that is essential for such a development. This has always provided us with the framework to make bold decisions, invest in our team, and plan for the long term. This security behind us is priceless.

Ralf Schade: Exactly. But it's not just about stability. RWTÜV GmbH actively demands and promotes our further development. This is an important point: we are not only supported, but also continuously encouraged to remain innovative and to break new ground. This combination of support and demand, alongside our own commitment, is an additional drive that repeatedly motivates us to achieve peak performance.

Looking ahead: What are the goals for the coming years?

Johannes Fast: We want to further expand our position as a top quality service provider for complex measurement tasks. This means we will invest in new technologies, expand our portfolio, and of course continue to grow. But always with the aim of maintaining high quality.

Ralf Schade: The collaboration between Enometrik GmbH and Enoplan GmbH will continue to play a central role. Together we are stronger, and I am convinced that we will achieve many more milestones in the coming years.

A final word to your team?

Johannes Fast: Thank you to each and every one of you! You are the reason for our success. From three to 30 employees – we achieved this together. I'm looking forward to everything that's yet to come!

Ralf Schade: Thank you for your commitment, your loyalty, and your passion. Let's continue to work together to make Enometrik GmbH the best service provider in our industry. Here's to the next 30 employees and beyond!

Strategy Development

This year's meeting of the RWTÜV Group's managing directors took place at the end of October at cetecom advanced's headquarters in Saarbrücken.

The event kicked off with an informative site tour; Andreas Ehre and his colleagues provided insights into topics such as radar, radio & EMC, smart cards, e-battery testing, SAR, international type approval, and many more.

Subsequently, the group delved into an analysis of the economic situation. First, the first 9 months of this challenging year 2025 were scrutinized to subsequently draw conclusions for the planning of the coming months and years. Discussions about change management, HR, AI, innovation management, and the future direction in rapidly changing markets across various industries characterized the rest of the day.

RWTÜV Managing Director Dr. Fabian Fechner summarized: „Above all, the tour of the Saarbrücken site impressed us greatly. However, our sincere thanks also go to the dedicated organizing team, which ensured a smooth process. We were well taken care of and could concentrate on our shared exchange in order to learn from each other again, to benefit from the different experiences of others, and to discover new perspectives. The “move AS ONE" spirit has also strengthened us here!"

Potential

In 2025, HR Development at RWTÜV focused on identifying and training the next generation of ambitious leaders. The YPS – Young Professional Summit offered the companies, their HR departments, and management the opportunity to look within their own ranks for special potential for early and targeted development. Through three in-person events covering strategy, innovation, change processes, communication, and team dynamics, dedicated employees were provided a forum to further their education, showcase their talents, and prove themselves.

Specifically, suitability as team leader and skilled presenter was required. Teams of about five people worked together – usually based on ideas from the internal RWTÜV innovation competition – to develop a business case. Opportunities and risk analyses had to be contrasted, an HR and communication strategy developed, and the result pitched to the group. A particular challenge: neither the team members were known beforehand nor the topics. Everyone had to immerse themselves ad hoc, quickly master unfamiliar topics, and show flexibility.

Following units in April and July, the third YPS group, comprising participants from Enoplan, Enometrik, Van Ameyde Deutschland, cetecom advanced, IB Nordhorn, and CONSULECTRA, traveled to Bonn from November 3rd to 6th, 2025. The Hotel Collegium Leonium, a former seminary including a church, provided a particularly inspiring setting for personal growth, as well as for internal company networking within a diverse group under the motto "move AS ONE.".

Natascha Winter rated the measure: „We are very satisfied with the findings and results in terms of the most diverse aspects! The participants were able to learn an incredible amount. At the same time, from our observer position, we saw many engaged employees who are eager to actively contribute to shaping the future, who are capable of strategic planning and developing innovations, and – last but not least – who are interested in internal corporate collaboration. Over the course of the coming year, we will plan a follow-up to this successful format.“

Success factor

Once again, the Van Ameyde Group in Germany has been awarded Silver status in the EcoVadis rating. This sustainability rating confirms the company’s position among the top 15 % of the most sustainable companies that have undergone this assessment.

The analyzed criteria are based on international CSR standards such as the ten principles of the UN Global Compact and the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO). The German group's performance in the areas of environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement was awarded.

Thomas Biedermann congratulates: „Congratulations, Van Ameyde Deutschland! This award reflects that sustainability and corporate ethics are perceived and valued as components of a corporate culture – and thus also significantly contribute to success.“

Robotics Expertise

For tech-enthusiast students, the LEGO® Mindstorms competition, known as RoboNight, is the highlight of the year. Since 2003, the Saarland University of Applied Sciences (htw saar) has hosted this competition in its home state. Children and teenagers from the sixth to twelfth grades compete against each other in teams, showcasing their skills in constructing and programming LEGO® Mindstorms robots.

RWTÜV subsidiary cetecom advanced donated €1,500 to foster young people's enthusiasm for STEM subjects. „We need young talent who enjoy mechanical engineering or robot programming. This is the optimal environment for that!” explained Marius Winzler, Head of Marketing at cetecom advanced, regarding the commitment.

On November 8th, after several workshops and preliminary rounds, the top ten teams competed against each other in the finals. They demonstrated great creativity, team spirit, and technical skill. In his welcoming address, patron Wolfgang Förster, State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of Finance and Science, praised the young talents and their teachers for their ingenuity and passion.
