Record-breaking

The internal innovation competition had not yet concluded when one of the submitted ideas was implemented at record speed, initiated by Enoplan CEO Tim Geisert: during the first „move2gether Day“, Aylin Holzer from Enoplan visited the Van Ameyde Group in Cologne to exchange ideas for a day with colleagues from another company within the RWTÜV group having similar job profiles.

Just as the 2030 corporate strategy is guided by the motto "move AS ONE," the ideas submitted in the competition should also contribute to the same goal: How can additional success be achieved through joint activities of subsidiaries? Where is there synergy potential, where can we benefit from each other? Van Ameyde and Enoplan were inspired and organized the first move2getherDay. Aylin Holzer visited the Van Ameyde Administration & Services team and discussed tools, digital processes, and clever automations with Yvonne Otto, Ali Uzun, and Birte Wendler.

Aylin Holzer sums it up: „I gained practical insights into correspondence processing at Van Ameyde and benefited enormously from this direct transfer of knowledge across departmental and company boundaries. Afterward, there was a “speed dating’ session with other departments to gain further insights into their day-to-day work. I’m looking forward to a return visit—hopefully soon—and can highly recommend this format!”

Six apprentices from TÜV NORD Systems, specializing in climate technology, also experienced practical exchange within the group. The aspiring inspection engineers conducted simulations at the RWTÜV group headquarters for legally required building inspections (e.g., on ventilation systems, pressurized ventilation systems, CO warning systems, smoke extraction systems, and fire extinguishing systems), which they need for their final exams to obtain their accreditation. They were accompanied by their instructor Dirk Malessa, Dipl.-Ing. and inspection engineer according to NRW's inspection ordinance.

The aim of the inspections is to ensure that all systems are safe to operate and effective, and that they meet the building code and technical requirements for proper functioning, especially in terms of fire and smoke protection. The RWTÜV building and the underground car park offered ample opportunities for corresponding simulations under realistic conditions for a practical inspection.

RWTÜV Managing Director Dr. Fabian Fechner sums it up: "Every year, we are delighted to welcome our colleagues from TÜV NORD to the RWTÜV headquarters. We have been making our premises available as an inspection site for eight years now. That is move AS ONE in practice – including with TÜV NORD!"

Training at TÜV NORD Systems—just like the subsequent role as a certification expert—is challenging, interesting, and varied. To be eligible to take the certification exam, candidates must hold a relevant bachelor’s or diploma degree and have at least five years of professional experience. After passing the written exam, the trainees must now take the oral exam before the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers (BBIK). This exam consists of two parts: a 45-minute document review (e.g., building permit, fire safety plan) and a 60-minute practical exam.
