Progress through confidence

Dear readers,

On Easter, we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, love, and hope. The festival teaches that in the face of loss, something new unexpectedly emerges. Even now, we find ourselves in times of upheaval; it seems no less than a new era lies ahead. But we know: change is the birth of evolution and development.

At RWTÜV, we have the power to actively shape the future. Digital technologies are transforming our world of work, and we're part of it. Renewable energies are changing supply concepts, and we're involved in their expansion and grid design. Living and working spaces need to be rethought? We think ahead. Trade routes and security requirements are changing, and we offer new concepts.

But above all: Within the RWTÜV Group, we unite a wide variety of competencies under one roof. „Together we are strong,“ „No one is an island,“ „Unity is strength,“ „One for all, all for one“ … It's no coincidence that there are countless phrases for how „united forces“ can „pull together“ more successfully than acting alone. As an international group, we call this: move AS ONE!

We have ample reason to spread optimism in this newsletter edition, as it is the foundation of satisfaction and quality of life. Positive expectations can inspire peak performance and even reduce stress! Therefore, the considerable interest shown in CONSULECTRA's recent symposium, as well as the entrepreneurial spirit and positive momentum we experienced with promising young talents from our own ranks at the first Young Professional Summit, are cause for optimism. Furthermore, the curiosity and engagement of the girls who visited IB Nordhorn and cetecom advanced for Girls' Day are encouraging. We also congratulate a member of the group on their birthday!

In this sense, with confident regards

Your Thomas Biedermann and Dr. Fabian Fechner

Network control technology

With its Symposium on Grid Control Technology on March 25th and 26th at the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg, the RWTÜV subsidiary once again offered a high-caliber, specialized discussion forum for topics related to grid and system management. These areas play a central role in the transformation of the energy system in Germany as well as worldwide. The new, changed technological world of the energy supply system must be used intelligently; new system components must interact in such a way that security of supply, economic efficiency, and feasibility are ensured.

The key themes of the symposium were adapted to the charged environment in which network operators, system suppliers, and service providers currently have to operate:

The ability of grid operators, to think in terms of cooperation and partnerships, takes on a significant importance against the backdrop of the described change and the increasing shortage of skilled workers. The Digitalization of Distribution Grids will become an indispensable bridge technology on the path to highly automated grid operations. At the same time, an increasingly visible threat landscape shows that the intelligent interaction of the new, digital technology world without a new level of IT security is inconceivable.

Birthday

critisLAB, a subsidiary of RWTÜV's CONSULECTRA and part of the group, celebrated its fifth anniversary. The company, located near Berlin, advises, trains, and coaches operators of Critical Infrastructures (KRITIS) to achieve the new IT security level required above.

Specifically, this involves training in crisis management organization, the development of corporate security concepts, guidance on conducting penetration tests or all types of alarm drills, training of crisis management team members, and the creation of DIN-compliant documentation and manuals.

The colleagues from the RWTÜV Group headquarters in Essen congratulated them with a certificate and a gourmet basket: „The content and expertise that critisLAB can provide to critical infrastructure companies are invaluable in a time of growing cyber threats and geopolitical uncertainties. We are proud to have such an experienced company in our group. Congratulations on your 5th birthday, critisLAB!” greeted RWTÜV Managing Director Dr. Fabian Fechner.

Young Professional Summit

The main goal of a new, inter-subsidiary educational program within the RWTÜV Group is to identify, develop, and promote ambitious (young) managers from within the company at an early stage. It is called YPS - Young Professional Summit and is a talent program as part of the intensive personnel development that has been high on the agenda in the RWTÜV Group for several years.

In interactive in-person sessions with a maximum of 17 participants, the focus is primarily on knowledge transfer regarding strategy, innovation, change processes, communication, and team dynamics. In combination with practical case studies, what has been learned can be directly applied. Small group work and presentations followed by plenary discussions alternate; each participant takes on the moderation of a case study in a tandem at least once and then presents the results to the group.

Another crucial building block is the individual feedback from trained observers on group work, presentations, and moderation, which serves not only professional but also personal development. Each participant is guaranteed an individual, differentiated, and methodical evaluation. Development discussions with supervisors and the responsible HR representative will follow, leading to a jointly approved career plan.

It is a consciously intended and desired side effect that YPS members can build and expand a valuable internal network within our group, within the given framework, in the spirit of "move AS ONE".

Girls‘ Day

On Girls' Day on April 3, 2025, RWTÜV's subsidiaries cetecom advanced and IB Nordhorn invited interested girls to get to know the daily work life of their companies for a day.

cetecom advanced bot in Saarbrücken Experiments with biometrics: How does facial recognition work, and how does identification via fingerprint? At the Essen location, participants worked with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) using assembled electronic kits. A total of 15 female students participated in the exciting experiments.

IB Nordhorn in Münster provided information about the world of building services engineering planning. What is technical building equipment, why is it important, and what is it used for? The job profiles and training path to a technical systems planner in HVAC (heating, ventilation, sanitary) and electrical engineering, as well as the career path to junior project engineer, were presented.

The girls present gained insight into the diverse and varied career paths of IB Nordhorn employees and realized: the path to finding one's own „calling” is not always straightforward.

In the practical part, the girls were allowed to draw their dream rooms: from the dream kitchen to the dream bedroom. The girls filled their designs with ventilation, connections, lighting, and more, gaining a feel for how building services make a building come alive. The participants were enthusiastic: „Now I can really imagine becoming an engineer!” was heard from more than one voice.
