Rolling up our sleeves together

Dear readers,

The first half of 2025 was characterized by the change in government in Germany, uncertainties in many sectors of the economy, trade disputes, and, last but not least, wars around the world. This naturally also has consequences for the RWTÜV Group. Increasing competitive pressure, volatile order levels, and stagnating, sometimes declining revenues demand our full attention, as do the growing adaptation requirements for the integration and use of AI with process optimization. The challenging situations are therefore diverse and must be managed simultaneously. This is what makes the current situation so unique compared to previous crises.

But let's try to turn these challenges into opportunities. Our motto for the second half of the year will be: „Roll up your sleeves!“ together we are stronger, in the spirit of move AS ONE.

  • We have initiated an active change management process with the individual companies that are most affected and are still struggling more intensely. For new customers, the best processes, new services, new industries, new ideas, and innovations.
  • We will further intensify our efforts in the training and development of our employees to equip them for challenges, to foster their excellence, and to develop them into innovators in their areas of expertise.
  • We will further sharpen our brand identities and profiles to be significantly more visible, distinctive, and in demand in the market.
  • We will focus the upcoming second innovation competition on participating in the modernization of security and sovereignty, infrastructure, and climate protection in our country through the competent and targeted achievements of our subsidiaries, in order to benefit from the special funds that have been allocated.

We have successfully held two corresponding kick-off events with great speakers and approximately 100 participants. We will leverage this in the upcoming innovation competition and share it through videos.

If we tackle the above challenges openly, in a structured and concerted manner, with courage and confidence, we will enable a transformation that makes us stronger for the future.

And you know what? We believe in this vision for the future and are looking forward to actively making changes, because we know the competencies of our group and rely on the abilities of our employees.

Best regards,
Your Thomas Biedermann and Dr. Fabian Fechner

Trained

In early August, a ProfileDynamics® training session was held in Cologne, followed by a certification for colleagues with HR responsibilities. The goal was to equip them all to conduct motivational analyses with employees, providing real levers for leadership, development, and collaboration.

Together with Wibke Schindler from Klar & Quirlig, other exciting topics were also intensively addressed: AI in the HR context, personnel cost planning, HR at the decision-making table, and the use of HR systems.

The colleagues involved from cetecom advanced, Ingenieurbüro Nordhorn, Enoplan, apro.gmbh, RWTÜV, and Van Ameyde Group Deutschland reported an intensive, enriching exchange that brought the move AS ONE initiative to life.

Future-proof

Marcel Hellingrath from RWTÜV's corporate headquarters has added successfully passing the exam for Certified Sustainability Manager (TÜV) to his resume, thereby acquiring invaluable expertise for the future.

Dr. Fabian Fechner and Thomas Biedermann are proud of the commitment: „Our heartfelt congratulations! Employees who proactively pursue further training to meet legal and economic challenges with sound knowledge strengthen the RWTÜV Group's shared mission. Because sustainability is not a side issue, but a central pillar for strategic success and economic necessity. Customers demand transparency, investors expect ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data, and lawmakers are creating the framework with CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and LKSG (Supply Chain Due Diligence Act).“

Trained

Positive news can also be reported about RWTÜV's first dual-track trainee, Jana Riedel. She began her first apprenticeship year in August 2023 to complete her training as an office management clerk combined with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the state-recognized University of Economics and Management (FOM), headquartered in Essen.

At university, she studied theory, and on Kronprinzenstraße, she experienced the practical aspects of commercial processes. She gained insights and experience in purchasing, logistics, marketing and sales, human resources, assistance, secretarial work, and event management. During a period with RWTÜV subsidiary cetecom advanced, she was able to familiarize herself with project management and customer relationship processes.

Jana Riedel's practical training period is now over, and her studies will continue for another year. RWTÜV has offered her continued employment and is pleased to be able to keep her on the team.

Ambitious

At the beginning of September, the starting gun will be fired for RWTÜV's next internal innovation competition under the motto „Infrastructure and Security – Smart Innovation for a safer tomorrow.“.

All employees of the RWTÜV Group are invited to shape the future together and, above all, to rethink infrastructure and safety in the context of RWTÜV services.

The focus is on finding ideas that have the potential for external funding through national and international programs concentrating on promoting the development of infrastructure, digitization, civil protection, or military security.

What services can the RWTÜV Group develop to recommend itself for government-subsidized programs? What innovative competencies can we offer in the area of safety and infrastructure that are suitable for an eligible service offering with which the RWTÜV Group can position itself in the market?

Dr. Fabian Fechner explains: „Whether it's new processes, new technologies, new networks, or new ways of thinking – your ideas are in demand! We are looking for approaches that support our corporate group in strategically shaping infrastructure and security as central future topics. I am sure that by bundling our expertise, thinking outside the box, and allowing for disruptive approaches, we can achieve genuine innovations. move AS ONE!“
