Dear readers,
We want to shape the future, combine our expertise, and develop continuously together. In this way, with a focus on our customers, we can effect change and find an innovative and productive approach to the increasing complexity of the world around us.
move AS ON, our Strategy 2030, is our compass for this transformation. It is designed to be successful in the long term and provide direction. Therefore, we are relying on many small, joint steps to pave the way for developments that can have a systemic impact within the RWTÜV Group and offer a stable foundation for strategically effective growth.
We have strengthened the corporate headquarters with additional personnel to provide you with even more effective support. And, in the spirit of „move AS ONE,“ we are working on various training and development formats to create commonalities and dynamics. Beyond "the box" – meaning beyond company affiliation – we focus on developing specialists through our RWTÜV Foundation, who can support us, our customers, or perhaps even potential partners with their expertise and knowledge in the future. Because performance offerings grow from solid expertise – as demonstrated by RWTÜV subsidiary cetecom advanced with regard to the RED Act coming into effect in August. See below!
With dynamic greetings
Your Thomas Biedermann and Dr. Fabian Fechner
Reinforced

The team at the RWTÜV Group's corporate headquarters in Essen is starting the young year with reinforcements. For one thing, Evelyn Beck already started at the end of 2024. With several years of professional experience as a lawyer specializing in labor law, she can contribute valuable expertise and strategic competence: „I am looking forward to new legal challenges and the opportunity to actively participate in implementing the RWTÜV Group's vision. This combination is what makes the role particularly exciting!“ says the in-house lawyer, welcoming her new role.
CEO Thomas Biedermann is relieved: „The legal requirements in our group require enormous expertise. Evelyn brings exactly the expertise that allows us to concentrate on the meaningful further development of the RWTÜV Group according to our Strategy 2030 under the motto move AS ONE.“
The second new colleague is Anika Corte, who brings valuable expertise in General Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Transformation after successfully completing her Master's degree in Management and Economics at Ruhr University Bochum. She will be joining the Controlling team and the Innovation Management department in Essen.
Dr. Fabian Fechner comments on the new hires: „We are very pleased to have found such well-suited and excellently qualified individuals in this tight labor market! We look forward to working with our new colleagues!“
Sponsored

Since the year before last, the RWTÜV Foundation has been a partner of the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) in supporting a total of twelve students, including civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and computer scientists. At this year's scholarship holders' celebration on January 23, 2025, a total of 300 participants from the entire program came together for a great exchange, from Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, among other regions, and discussed their studies, life goals, bridge construction, entry into the automotive industry, and much more.
Thomas Biedermann was present for RWTÜV as a foundation board member and offered a variety of support, whether it was with career choices, the search for internships, working student positions, or bachelor's and master's thesis positions.
The inspiring day and successful evening were rounded off by a diverse buffet and musical accompaniment from the Folkwang Quartet.
Qualified

On January 25th, participants of the eurobits women academy (ewa) met for one of their joint workshops at the RWTÜV headquarters in Essen. ewa has set itself the goal of increasing the proportion of women in cybersecurity. The further training program, which is currently supported by the NRW Ministry of Economic Affairs and patron Nona Neubauer, aims to inspire and empower women for a career in the industry, and is currently being piloted by 20 career changers in two groups.
Module 5 of the training series was processed, which dealt with IT security techniques such as network management, encryption, and authentication methods. Eurobits lecturer and board member Dr. Reiner Baumgart gave a lecture on the history of cryptography and provided well-founded feedback on the workshop contributions of the participants, who had prepared them as homework in teamwork.
Host, RWTÜV Foundation Board Member Thomas Biedermann, highlighted the need for commitment in his presentation: „We are faced with ever-increasing digital threats, and there is a high demand for appropriately qualified personnel in the job market. This practical approach imparts key IT security skills to career changers, opening up great career opportunities for them, and they are urgently needed!”
Project lead Jana Bodenstedt explains: „We developed a concept of self-learning content, teamwork, and online and offline workshops that quickly and compactly imparts the necessary knowledge. With many practical insights and individual mentoring, we accompany interested women on their path to an exciting career in cybersecurity!” The RTWÜV Foundation has been a sponsor of the project since 2022.

More InformationConform

Starting August 1, 2025, manufacturers of devices with built-in radio technology for the European market must fully comply with the requirements of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Delegated Act. The directive aims to ensure that radio equipment in the EU is safe, compatible, and efficient, while also promoting innovation and sustainability in the field of radio technology.
RWTÜV subsidiary cetecom advanced has developed a corresponding service offering for this: For those who are worried about possible cyber-attacks on digitally networked applications and components of mobile or stationary IoT devices, the company offers a solution with comprehensive IoT cybersecurity services. The IoT cybersecurity of products is reviewed and verified, and the current security status of networked devices is verified. How secure is the application, how robust is its design, do possible integrated safeguards function against attacks on data integrity and authenticity during communication processes? All these questions and checks against all common regulations (CEN/CENELEC, certification according to RED, ETSI, CTIA, CSC label, etc.) are handled by the cetecom advanced experts with many years of IoT experience in the regulatory certification of products with wireless technologies.
