Dear Readers,
No sooner have the hot days come to an end, meteorologically speaking, than we kick off our business “fall rally.” The projected figures for the second half of the year suggest that we’ll be able to make up some ground; we believe we can achieve the group’s goals by the end of the year. This puts us in a strong position — and at the same time serves as an incentive to keep pushing forward consistently in the coming months. Our colleagues at enometrik, for example, are making great strides and have reached an exciting milestone, which their managing director, Johannes Fast, is happy to report on in this issue.
Anyone following the media these days regularly gets one piece of advice during the crisis: companies should now increasingly focus on digitization, artificial intelligence, and innovation. One might almost get the impression the authors copied from us! Because all three megatrends have been on our agenda for a long time. We know that future viability arises above all from the willingness to try new things, use technologies sensibly, and question processes. The decisive factor here is not just the technology itself, but above all the people who turn possibilities into concrete solutions. Therefore, on the one hand, we are pleased to invite you to the next internal innovation competition, which starts in September. On the other hand, we are giving the go-ahead for our new Learning & Development platform, which provides for personal and professional development at RWTÜV with alternating monthly themes and various focuses. CAMPUS is getting started. The webinar by isn, which we would like to recommend to you in this newsletter, is also about AI in the innovation process.
It is also worth noting that North Rhine-Westphalia is currently celebrating its 80th anniversary and democracy. RWTÜV has deep roots here; our history began as early as 1872 as the “Dampfkesselüberwachungsverein Lenne, Sieg und Dill e. V.” in Siegen. Since the state’s founding, we have been an important part of the region’s industrial and technological development, committed to ensuring that technical progress is carried out safely. Over generations, RWTÜV has helped shape the development and structural transformation of North Rhine-Westphalia through innovation and dedication. We offer our heartfelt congratulations and are proud of our state!
So, as we return from the summer break, it is time to roll up our sleeves, seize the opportunities ahead and continue moving forward together. The conditions are right for us to do so.
Here’s to a successful second half of the year!
Thomas Biedermann and Dr Fabian Fechner
Milestone

Enoplan subsidiary enometrik has reached an important milestone: its first intelligent metering system (iMSys) is now up and running. The successful installation and commissioning mark the beginning of a new chapter in enometrik’s development as a company.
Intelligent metering systems are a key component of Germany’s energy transition. The legislator has mandated their introduction to drive the digitalisation of the energy sector and enable electricity consumption and feed-in to be measured securely, transparently and almost in real time. They provide the foundation for smart grids, greater energy efficiency and a sustainable energy supply.
For enometrik, however, this first iMSys installation means much more than the fulfillment of regulatory requirements. It stands for innovative strength, a forward-looking approach, and the consistent expansion of its service portfolio. By entering the field of intelligent metering systems, the foundation is laid to offer enometrik customers modern digital metering services from a single source in the future.
Johannes Fast, Managing Director of enometrik, comments on the milestone: “What starts today with a single meter marks the beginning of a development that is highly significant for our company. We are expanding our expertise, entering a new business area and, at the same time, making an active contribution to the digitalisation of energy supply in Germany. My heartfelt thanks go to all our colleagues whose commitment, expertise and enthusiasm have made this milestone possible.”
Development Opportunities

RWTÜV HR Business Partner Natascha Winter is launching a new learning and development initiative for the Group. Employees across all subsidiaries will be supported in strengthening their skills, managing their day-to-day work more effectively and engaging with customers more successfully.
Under the name “Learning & Development Campus”, the programme is being offered across the Group to all colleagues, regardless of their function, role or level of seniority. As in previous initiatives, it is being developed and delivered in close collaboration with Wibke Schindler from coaching agency Klar & Quirlig. The programme aims to encourage participants to reflect on their own ways of working, develop new skills and optimise their day-to-day professional activities by putting what they learn into practice. Over a period of six months, 35 participants will explore a range of topics, including self-organisation, communication, presentation skills, project management, change and stress management. Virtual training sessions will be complemented by practical exercises, self-directed learning and reflection. The content is designed to be directly applicable to everyday work.
Registration is handled via RWTÜV CAMPUS Registration is available via the RWTÜV CAMPUS. And for everyone who has not been able to secure a place this time, a repeat of the programme is already planned for the first half of 2027.
The Starting Signal

The RWTÜV Group’s internal innovation competition is entering its next round. Managing Director Thomas Biedermann is convinced: “If we want to continuously develop our service portfolio, processes and tools, we need the qualified input of our employees – because you are the experts in your respective fields. Innovation thrives on new ideas, and that is exactly what we want to encourage. Starting now, you once again have the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of our companies and the group with your creative ideas and proposals.”
The RWTÜV Group’s internal innovation competition was developed in collaboration with isn – innovation service network. Every year, the competition seeks out the best ideas from within the group: How can we leverage synergies and optimise processes? How can AI be used effectively? How can we win new customers or simplify workflows? In 2026, there are very few restrictions when it comes to the topics – whether artificial intelligence, sustainability or other forward-looking issues. The only requirement is that the RWTÜV Group can use the ideas submitted as a basis for developing new services and concrete solutions for the future.
The competition offers attractive prizes, along with support for implementing promising proposals, with a total budget of more than €100,000. Entries will be evaluated by the CAMPUS community and a jury made up of representatives from the management teams of the group’s subsidiaries. CAMPUS Community and the jury consisting of the management boards of the subsidiaries.
We look forward to receiving plenty of creative input and exciting ideas!
Innovation Booster

RWTÜV subsidiary isn – innovation service network is not only a driving force for innovation management within the RWTÜV Group; it is also actively shaping the topic beyond the group. In their webinar “AI as an Innovation Booster for SMEs”, Prof. Dr Reinhard Willfort and his expert colleagues Thomas Röblreiter, Digitalisation and Innovation Advisor at the Austrian Research Promotion Agency, and Florian Dürager, Innovation Consultant and Innovation Funding Expert at Innovation Salzburg, addressed companies across the DACH region. Prof. Dr Willfort explains: “Doing nothing is also a decision – but usually the most expensive one. While many companies are still weighing up whether AI is relevant to innovation management, others are already using it to build competitive advantages.” The webinar explores what decision-makers need to know about AI in innovation management, how the right data combined with the right tools can create a competitive advantage, how risks can be minimised before making significant investments, and why and how 40% of newly founded companies are developing their business models entirely around AI. More InformationSummer Events III

After heavy rain put a stop to the first attempt by the RWTÜV team from group Headquarters, the postponed country outing to the football golf course at Rutherhof Glücklich in Essen finally took place on 3 August.
In midsummer temperatures, umbrellas originally intended for rain were repurposed as sunshades. Well protected from the heat, the team took on the challenges of the course with a healthy dose of competitive spirit. Every successful shot brought plenty of fun and football spirit, with goal celebrations inspired by the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This eventful day will remain a great memory for everyone for a long time to come. Many thanks to the organisers!
